The CIS squad dominated the competition as they clinched the victory at the $200,000 event without losing a single map throughout.
Virtus.pro have defeated fnatic 2-0 (Inferno 16-14, Vertigo 16-8) in the grand final of cs_summit 7, completing an unbeaten campaign at the event to win the $90,000 first-place prize and secure their third consecutive title after coming out on top of Flashpoint 2 and DreamHack Open December at the end of 2020.
Inferno was the first map of the grand final and saw Virtus.pro pick up the series advantage after a closely contested affair, in which the lead bounced back and forth. Dzhami "Jame" Ali's side was the first to strike as Terrorists off a quad-kill from Timur "buster" Tulepov in the pistol round, but fnatic did not roll over and dominated the opening gunrounds on the back of a consistent output from Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson.

In the end, the half went Virtus.pro's way at 8-7 after buster and Jame tipped it in their team's favor with a 2v5 clutch, but their lead did not last long. The Swedes reclaimed the advantage after picking up the second pistol round and looked to close out the map as they reached a 13-10 scoreline, when VP tightened up the defense and started denying fnatic entry into either bombsite to lock down the first map 16-14.
Virtus.pro completed their unbeaten run at the $200,000 tournament on Vertigo. At first, it was heading towards another close result when the two sides were dead even by the end of the first half, with Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis and Jame each putting up a couple of key individual displays to eventually help their team pick up another 8-7 lead.
But once the sides switched, fnatic struggled on the defense, with a quick solo triple from the Latvian star in the last pistol round of the series setting off a successful streak from Virtus.pro, who then only conceded one round in the second half en route to a 16-8, 2-0 victory.
